Get CAS Certified Without the Stress
Need CAS certification for a client, tender or upcoming project?I help contractors and construction businesses across the UK achieve CAS certification by managing the application process, reviewing existing documentation, preparing missing evidence and dealing with assessor queries through to approval.Whether you're applying for the first time or renewing an existing accreditation, I can take care of the paperwork and make the process as straightforward as possible.
What is CAS?
CAS stands for Safety Common Assessment Standard. The Common Assessment Standard (CAS) provides a recognised framework for assessing construction suppliers against a consistent set of pre-qualification requirements.
Rather than contractors repeatedly completing different assessments for multiple clients, the Common Assessment Standard provides a standardised approach covering key areas such as health & safety, environmental management, quality, financial information, corporate and professional standing, and other business compliance requirements.
For contractors, achieving the Common Assessment Standard can help demonstrate to clients, principal contractors and buyers that their business has been independently assessed against recognised industry requirements, helping to reduce duplication during the pre-qualification and tendering process.
How do you achieve CAS Certification?
1. Choose an CAS Member Scheme
The first step is choosing the accreditation or assessment scheme that's right for your business.
You are generally free to choose an appropriate CAS Member Scheme, although some clients may request a particular scheme.

2. Complete Your Application
You'll need to provide detailed information about your business, the work you undertake and the systems you have in place to manage compliance.
The Common Assessment Standard covers a much broader range of requirements than SSIP, looking beyond health & safety at other key areas of your business.
3. Provide Your Evidence
This is often where businesses need the most support.
You'll be required to provide evidence to demonstrate that your policies and procedures are actually in place and appropriate for your business. This can include health & safety, environmental, quality, financial, corporate and professional standing, equality and diversity, modern slavery and other compliance documentation.
I can review what you already have, identify any gaps and prepare the additional policies, procedures and supporting evidence required for your assessment.
4. Assessment & Queries
Once your application and evidence have been submitted, they will be reviewed by your chosen assessment provider.
If the assessor requests further information, updated documents or additional evidence, I can manage the queries and make the necessary amendments on your behalf.
5. Achieve the Common Assessment Standard
Once you've successfully met the applicable requirements, your business will achieve verification against the Common Assessment Standard through your chosen assessment provider.
This can then be used to demonstrate to clients, principal contractors and buyers that your business has been assessed against a recognised and consistent construction industry pre-qualification standard.
