Get CHAS Approved Without the Hassle
I provide complete CHAS application and renewal support for contractors and construction businesses across the UK. From completing your application and uploading evidence to creating the policies and documentation you're missing, I can manage the process from start to finish.
Which CHAS Membership Do I Need?
CHAS offers different membership levels depending on the level of verification your business needs and the requirements of the clients and contractors you want to work with.
Standard Membership (SSIP)
Essential verified compliance and SSIP.
Standard is CHAS' first verified membership level. It provides a simplified way of managing your insurance and SSIP information.
This can be suitable for smaller contractors that primarily need to demonstrate basic verified status and SSIP certification without the broader pre-qualification requirements of Advanced or Elite.
Advanced Membership
Broader pre-qualification and compliance verification.
Advanced builds on Standard and allows you to share more comprehensive compliance information with Constructionline's network of construction and facilities management buyers.
A key addition at Advanced is Corporate & Professional Standing, alongside the SSIP and verification requirements included at Standard.
Best suited to: Contractors that need a recognised level of CHAS verification for clients, supply chains and procurement opportunities.
Elite Membership (CAS)
Common Assessment Standard verified.
Elite is where the assessment becomes considerably more comprehensive.
It includes the benefits of Silver while enabling contractors to demonstrate compliance with the Common Assessment Standard (CAS).
The assessment can cover areas including:
Health & Safety
Environmental Management
Quality Management
Equal Opportunities & Diversity
Corporate & Professional Standing
Corporate & Social Responsibility
Building Information Modelling
Building Safety Act requirements
CHAS confirms that businesses requiring the desktop Common Assessment Standard assessment need to be verified to Elite.
Best suited to: Contractors working with larger main contractors, public-sector organisations and buyers that require more comprehensive pre-qualification or Common Assessment Standard verification.

FAQs

What is CHAS accreditation?
CHAS is a UK supplier and procurement platform used by buyers and contractors to find and assess suppliers. Membership allows construction businesses to demonstrate that key company, health & safety and compliance information has been verified, with the level of assessment depending on the CHAS membership selected.

What are the different CHAS membership levels?
CHAS offers Standard, Advanced and Elite membership levels, with the compliance and verification requirements increasing at each level.
Standard provides verified membership and SSIP, Advanced adds further supplier verification including Corporate & Professional Standing, Elite includes the Common Assessment Standard and Building Safety Act.

What is the difference between CHAS Standard, Advanced and Elite?
The main difference is the level of verification and compliance evidence required.
Standard is suited to businesses requiring SSIP and basic verified membership.
Advanced provides a broader level of supplier verification and includes Corporate & Professional Standing.
Elite is a much more comprehensive assessment and includes the Common Assessment Standard and Building Safety Act Assessments.
The right level will usually depend on the requirements of your clients, tenders and supply chains.

How much does CHAS application support cost?
MJones Compliance provides CHAS application support with document creation included.
CHAS Standard – from £420
CHAS Advanced – £555
CHAS Elite– £620
Renewal support is also available.
These are my service fees for managing your accreditation application and are separate from any membership or assessment fees charged directly by CHAS.

Can you complete my CHAS application for me?
Yes. I can manage your CHAS application from start to finish, including completing the application, reviewing your existing evidence, uploading documentation, preparing required policies and procedures and helping to resolve assessor queries.
The aim is to make achieving CHAS accreditation as straightforward as possible while you concentrate on running your business.

Are policies and documents included in your CHAS application fee?
Yes. Required document creation is included within my CHAS accreditation support fee.
I'll first review the documentation you already have. If additional policies, procedures or supporting evidence are required for your application, I'll prepare what's needed rather than charging separately for every individual document.

What documents do I need for CHAS Elite?
The exact evidence required will depend on your business, activities and circumstances. CHAS Elite involves a more comprehensive assessment and can require evidence across areas including health & safety, environmental management, quality management, equality and diversity, corporate and professional standing, corporate social responsibility and Building Safety Act requirements.
You don't need to work out everything you need before contacting me. I'll review your application and existing documentation and identify any gaps.

Does CHAS Elite include the Common Assessment Standard?
Yes. CHAS Elite provides the desktop Common Assessment Standard assessment, subject to successfully meeting the applicable requirements.
This can be particularly important for contractors looking to work within the supply chains of larger construction businesses and buyers that require the Common Assessment Standard.

Does CHAS include SSIP?
CHAS' relevant membership options include SSIP Assessment.
If SSIP is your main requirement, I can help determine whether CHAS Standard or another SSIP Member Scheme would be the most appropriate route for your business.

How long does a CHAS application take?
My standard turnaround for preparing a CHAS accreditation application is approximately one week, subject to receiving the required information from your business.
A 48-hour express service is available for an additional £75 where you need your application prepared urgently.
Assessment and approval times after submission are controlled by CHAS and can vary.

Can you help with CHAS renewals?
Yes. I provide CHAS renewal support for existing members.
I'll review your account, update expired or outdated evidence, prepare any documentation required for the new assessment period and support you with the renewal process.

How much does a CHAS renewal cost?
My current CHAS renewal support prices are:
CHAS Standard – £350
CHAS Advanced – £430
CHAS Elite – £555
Document reviews and required updates are included as part of the service.

I've already started my CHAS application. Can you take over?
Yes. You don't have to be starting from scratch.
If you've already begun your CHAS application or received assessor queries requesting further evidence, I can review what's been completed, identify what is outstanding and help get the application back on track.

My CHAS application has come back with assessor queries. Can you help?
Yes. Assessor queries are a normal part of many accreditation applications.
I can review the feedback, prepare amended responses or additional supporting evidence and help resolve outstanding CHAS assessment queries.

Do I need CHAS Elite to work with main contractors?
Not every main contractor requires CHAS Elite, so you should always check the specific requirements of the client, tender or supply chain you're applying to.
However, Elite is commonly relevant where buyers require a higher level of supplier verification or the Common Assessment Standard.

Is CHAS Elite worth it for a small construction company?
It can be. The right membership isn't necessarily determined by the size of your business; it depends more on who you want to work for and what their procurement requirements are.
A smaller contractor looking to enter larger supply chains may need Elite, while another business may only require Standard or Advanced.

I'm not sure which CHAS level I need. Can you help?
Absolutely. If you've simply been told you need "CHAS" and aren't sure whether you need Standard, Advanced or Elite, send me the client or tender requirements.
I can help you identify the appropriate level before you start the application, so you don't pay for a higher membership than you need or apply for a level that doesn't meet your client's requirements.
